  • Thank God for Scratch X!

    Hi Folks,

Here is another story of stupid doings from the Tillmanator:

I'm parked at school under a big tree last week and sap drips all over the rear fender well of my 06 mustang. Big gooey stalagtite looking drips. It's still wet so I take a napkin from the car and get most of it off. Of course there's still smeary goo on the car.

I go home planning to QD it or something but for some reason I promptly FORGET and it sits there. And for the next few days it bakes in the sun. (I live in Miami Beach and it's currently in the 90s.)

I washed my car yesterday morning and realized to my complete horror that it's NOT coming off at all with NXT wash. I have no clay in the house but it's so stuck it might just pull off the paint if I try that. Then I figure if Scratch X can abrade clear coat so as to make scratches less visible, it might be able to abrade off the rest of the sap that has baked to a bright white all over the side of my car.

I don't know if this an intended use for Scratch X, but after about an hour or so it all came off and my car looks lovely again. I can't move my arms today but I'm ok with that.

I wish I had taken pictures.

    TY meguiar's for Scratch X!!!!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you could have saved yourself 58 minutes and used either a degreaser or window cleaner. Glad to hear you got it off, though.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
