  • Possible to apply paste wax via DA

I just purchased some pads for my G110 DA. I still have a can of NXT 2.0 paste wax with a good amount left and don't want it to go to waste. Is it possible to apply the paste wax onto the finishing pad while on the DA or is this not recommended? I would just hate to see that NXT go to waste and since I have a DA, I wouldn't want to go back to doing it by hand

You can. It's a little bit difficult but you can do it.
Just be careful with the amount of wax you but on the pad, since it's paste then you don't have the same "control" compared with liquid.

I'd not mess with applying the paste with the DA. I find that I can apply NXT paste wax by hand just as fast (if not faster) than I can apply liquid NXT liquid using a DA. There are times that I simply don't want to bother getting my DA out and setting it up. Grab the tin of paste wax, an applicator and a microfiber polishing cloth and you are "good to go".

Sure can! I just take a plastic knife and spread it around the pad like you are buttering a piece of toast.....just apply sparingly.

Agreed but if he just got the DA I think he REALLY wants to play with it!!

I use my DA to apply paste wax all the time. I use a spatula to spread the wax on my pad. It seems a lot easier to me than applying the wax by hand. It also goes on much smoother and thinner.

Using a spatula or small knife to transfer product from the tin to the pad is pretty common practice, just remember to apply a very small amount of product!! Think about the tiny amount you would normally pick up on the applicator pad that came with the wax and follow along those lines. It's far too easy to over use a product this way but when done right it works like a charm!

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like a toasted bagel with butter right now?

Sometimes I just rub my finger into the paste and then apply it to the foam pad. No need to get all "technical".

i recently just started using the paste wax and my da. it works just the same as the liquid. i use it w/ the smaller lc 4" finishing pad since it will fit in the tin. no need for spatulas or butter knives.

I use M16 on my PC jewelers pad. I spread it on with a butter knife.
