i have water spots because there was a sprinkler in back of my car that i didnt see and its pretty bad since i didnt wipe it off right away....

i used 3m rubbing compound on my car too but i decided to try something new

Well.... My results with mild spots have been from Clay, Nxt Glass Cleaner, and RainX.

If needed, or you can, UC wont hurt anything. Its not a problem to try, but expect to need a glass cleaner after.

i have rainx.... btw is it better to do clay bar first, UC, then rainx or UC first, claybar then rainx?

In theory, a full process would be:

Clay
UC
Glass Cleaner
RainX

You'll have success with Ultimate Compound depeding on how severe the spots are.

People have had great success with M04 Heavy Cut Cleaner, read this thread that could help out with your problem

I am another one who has great success with #4 for water spots on glass.
