  • After paint protection

I am painting fiberglass fairings for my motorcycle and also painting "highlights" on my stock plastic fairings. The fiberglass fairings are currently white. I am spray can painting everything black and spray can clear coating. I know spray can painting isn't the best method of painting so please dont bash me. All pieces are being 2000grit wet sanded before clear coat is applied.

With the fiberglass pieces I am:
    sanding-primer-sand-primer-paint-wet sand-clear

With the OEM plastics I am:
    wet sand-paint-wet sand-clear

What products should I use to protect the paint/clear and to have a deep shine?

Here are pictures of the pieces that I am painting.

Assuming you get them is good shape, #80 would be a good product.

So BSP Spped Glaze would be the only product i would need to use?

I thought I wold have to use a paint cleaner then a polish followed by a wax.

Having been a " spray-paint customizer " numerous times, wait as long as possible for the paint to dry very well. What you use after that, like Murr1525 said, depends on how good a finish you have achieved. You're right in the polish then wax for protection... but I'd be careful with a cleaner... spray can is different than spray gun paint. I think it's much less forgiving IMO.

I also think that #80 would be your best bet. Make sure you update us when all done.
