  • How to choose the right towels???

In a perfect world, all the Meguiars products would be available in the stores in my area, and I could just pick the exact ones mentioned when we talk about how to do various things.

But since we don't live in perfect, that makes me wonder how do you choose towels etc? I realize that not all microfiber towels are created equal. What's more important- the fiber content or the feel of the towel? Do you just sort of know after doing this for a while?

Well, online ordering can help with these things. Even if you didn't want Meguiars, the other top companies aren't found in many stores either.

Do you have Supreme Shine at all yet? Thats a good feel... soft, a bit plush, but not too much.

You'll notice a lot of the other brands, Viking, Vroom, etc have less nap, don't feel quite as plush. I tend to use these ones for the dirtier jobs. Though I have seen a few newer Vroom products that seem a bit higher quality, so maybe they are getting better.

But yeah, suffice to say I order most good ones online.

Invest in a lot of clay bar kits at once, then you will have a lot of Supreme Shine towels.

The way I found the towels I like is by buying ALL OF THEM!

Yes this might not sound smart on the wallet, but think of it as spending money to find the right product.

Buy one of each and see which one you find the most effective, or whichever works for you, and keep the rest for other purposes such as rims, engine bay cleaning etc.

I was skeptical at first about the supreme shines. After I bought some I found out why they are superior. Now whenever I place a order online, I always add a 3-pak. You can never have enough.

Actually, that's pretty much what I'm doing now. When I go to buy towels, I feel them and if they feel like they are soft enough to not scratch the paint, I'll give them a shot.

If this turns out to be the wrong approach, I'll get a firsthand education on ScratchX.

I also love Ultimate Wipes, if you get a few you will be addictive. I have exactly 27 and I'm looking to buy another 24 this week.
