You may find this video on ONR helpful:

Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

You are correct, it is the Scottwax video with him washing with ONR.

Re: What do you do right after it rains?

Rain is usually not that bad. However, if the car is dusty, the raindrops collect the dust and when the car dries out, dots of dirt will appear on the car.

I use my California Duster often especially when they forecast rain for the day. My car is parked in the outside parking lot of my work everyday and even if it rains, my car usually remains to be nice and clean. Of course, it changes everything if I drive the car when the road is wet.

Ever since I bought a California Duster, I find that I wash the car less.

Re: What do you do right after it rains?

Stoops recomended the ONR to me in an email in which he and I were discussing how to over come the challenges apartment living poses to a proper detail job. I want to give it a try, but I think I'll use up the half gallon of GC car shampoo I bought first.

What I ended up doing was just letting the water evaportate off the car and then hitting all the surfaces with a QD treatment. The car looks just as nice now as it did right after it was washed and waxed earlier in the week.

I did notice a few light swirls in the paint, mostly on the rear bumper. I am 99% sure that was from the previous owner as I have only had the car for 2 months. I can live with the isolated patch of swirls (until the next wax job anyway) but what's really driving me nuts is the door dings and rock chips seem to be multiplying with every wash. I guess when you get all crud off a grey car, the chips have no where to hide...

I shake my head in frustration right after it rains.
