Wondering what the paint experts would recommend for gloss black B-pillars ( exterior ); ultimate compound or scratchx; the black is beginning to oxidize. thanks.

Re: ScratchX or UC?
Do you have photos? If this is newer car (with a clearcoat), it could not be oxidation but clearcoat failure. How bad is it? Based upon what you wrote, I'd go with U.C. but a photo would still help a lot. However, if what you are talking about is clearcoat failure, then none of the products will help. Here are photos of that.

Re: ScratchX or UC?
We've seen a lot of people have great success on these with UC - just don't use a terry cloth applicator since you'll most likely have to get a bit aggressive and terry cloth can easily haze this surface. Stick to a soft foam wax applicator pad.Michael Stoops

Re: ScratchX or UC?
Just so we are on the same page... Scratch X 2.0 is just under UC in aggressiveness. Scratch X (old) is way under UC in aggressiveness.
No good way to answer the question with out photos other then to say start with Scratch X and if that does not work, move up to UC (i.e. start with less aggressive polish and move to more aggressive).

Re: ScratchX or UC?
THE PILLARS ARE ON A '99 VW PASSAT; the fading isn't too bad, mostly around the edges. I have used Megs cleaner wax before and lasted a decent amount of time - gone after a couple of washes, will try some of the new scratchx. Thanks all.
