  • Paint Issue

My girlfriend has a White 2005 Honda CR-V.

A few months ago after washing it and then drying, I realised when squeezing out the chamois the water had a white color, and ever since it has been like that, though only a certain parts. Mainly the right had front panels.

I am not sure what to call this problem and even more unsure as to how to fix it. Most of the car still has a slight "shine" to it, but any ideas as to what I should do would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

Has it been resprayed on certain bodypanels ?
If so it could be some overspraypaint that is coming off by washing it !

No. It has not been painted nor has it been close to where any paiting was being done...

I was wondering if I purchased some clay cleaned the body, polished and waxed, it if that would help.

      Any ideas?

You could certainly pick up a clay kit, and use that and then the cleaner/wax.

When you use the cleaner/wax, the pad/cloth you use should turn white on single stage paint. So if you had a few cloths, you may be able to tell if certain parts, or the whole car are single stage or clear coated.

Honda still uses single stage paint for some of it's color offerings. I know that one of the single stage colors is San Marino Red, and the other is Taffeta white. See this link for more background
