  • Swirl X or Mirror glaze 83?

I have two bottles of swirlx at home. My intended purpose was to remove the swirl marks on my black car. I have a G110DA but no pads(just horrible $5 autozone pads :-P) and plan on picking up a meguiar's soft buff yellow polishing pad or a lake country orange polishing pad to polish and get rid of the swirls.

From what I've read so far, swirlx is a cleaner and polish as is the Mirror glaze m83. Which one should I use???

From my limited use of swirlx on a DA, it started dusting as I was working the product in. I take it that it's a bad sign??

As far as product choice, yeah, I would use SwirlX.

Havent used SwirLX by machine yet, but dusting could be from several sources. Were you working the product until it dried up? Were you cleaning your pad as you went?

Hopefully someone who has used it more can chime in.

If the SwirlX dried up and dusted it was most likely from over working the product, or working a really hot surface.

You should work the product until it JUST barely starts to dry up or appear to be beginning to disappear. If you work it until the area is totally dry and void of product you worked it too long.

As for which product to use from those two, try some test spots and see which yields the best results in this case.

Well, most cleaner and polish has some degree of dusting. But from my experience, dusting with SwirlX is extremely minimal. Maybe I am just accustomed to the insane dusting associated with M105 and UC.

Although I haven't used M83, but from researching on MOL, I would choose SwirlX. The marketing emphasis of SwirlX is on technology. That sounds good to me.

the culprit of the dusting could have been that i didnt clean the pad enough, it was also around 11am in the afternoon and it was beginning to get a bit hot..oops. thanks. ill be giving it another shot.
