  • Swirls on Black paint-recently purchased G110 DA-need some help

I recently purchased a used G110 DA off craigslist and now need recommendations on a swirl remover, sealant, wax..etc as well as the types of buffer pads to use. I'm still debating between the meguiar buff pads and the lake country buff pads. Which is better in your opinion?

I'm new to all this so please be kind :-P

Products I currently have on hand are Meguiar's Swirl x and scratchx 2.0. Swirl x seemed to nothing to the hood. Most likely because I havent worked the product in enough.

The whole entire car is filled with swirls when parked in the sun. I have clay bared the vehicle and applied NXT 2.0.

PS I will be attending the saturday hands on session next week and hope to learn more there.

here are a few pictures of the heavy swirls. Thanks in advance. I use a two bucket system to wash the car and use a meguiars car wash mitt. I have also purchased a gilmour foamaster foam cannon to prevent swirls.

Yeah, best to hang tight till Saturday. Though you will likely see #205/SwirlX (milder cleaner/polishes), and Ultimate Compound/#105 (stronge cleaners) in use there.

You could watch some videos on youtube to get an idea on how to effectively work the Dual Action.

The pad you use has an impact on the results with the products you use. Unless this car you are working on is a newer Ford or an European vehicle, SwirlX should work nicely with a polishing pad. Ultimate Compound will definitely take those swirls out if SwirlX and a polishing pad could not do the job. Some deeper spots may take more than one pass to remove. It's hard to tell really.
