I remove the wheel, makes it much easier to not only clean the whole whell but to get the whell well cleaned too.

My spoked are spaced wide enough that I can get a toothrbush for a rough job, and a terry cloth once i na whle for better cleaning.

Do you have spokes, or a solid wheel?

Go to autogeek.net and look for them ,

I saw several bendable brushes that are specially made for wheels, haven't tried them myself since I have a pretty wide spacing between spokes.

Go up to Autozone or Pepboys or even Walmart and grab a few generic spoke brushes. I have a couple of those on hand as well as the Meguiars Ultra Spoke brush.

I soak the inside with Simple Green. I then drag a 3 X 5 Scotch Bright pad around the inner rim. If you can straddle the spokes with your fingers, just work it back and forth. For tighter areas I find a chop stick works instead of the fingers. It's tedious, but boy does it make a dramatic difference. I can use Scotch Bright since my inner rims are matte aluminum.

To me the most effective way is to remove the wheels.

I bought one of the above mentioned autozone brushes... lasted a whole 15 minutes...

Agreed, as you can get leverage and with spoked rims your still going to miss some. It's a PITA but the best way. Also most cars come with a jack the trunk. Just use that.

I've been using one of those generic household brushes from Ikea (PLATIS brush).. cheap and works not too bad. Able to get inbetween my spokes to get the nasty out.
