  • Detailing Clay

I've been trying to find Meguiar's Quick Clay at stores in my area without much success. I have seen Mother's California Gold Clay and might pick some up. Are there any differences between the two? I'd prefer to use Meguiar's products (of course! ) but was curious what everyone's opinions were.

    Thanks,
    Keith

Meguiar's Quik Clay System can be hard to locate, you can always order it online and right now it's included in a forum promotion kit you can find on the Meguiar's Online homepage here,

    Hand Kit

We appreciate your loyalty to our brand, but if you can't find our Quik Clay System at your local retail stores, I've always read positive things about the Mothers clay kit.

Thanks for the info Mike. I ended up settling for the Mother's clay and clayed my car for the first time. There were a few bonded contaminants that I couldn't remove but overall was happy with how smooth my car's surface was.

I'm thinking about picking up the Hand Kit...great deal! Of course, if there's a PC promotion coming soon, I may have to get that and the Essentials Kit too!

I usually see the Quik Clay system more in Auto Parts stores like Autozone, Advanced Auto Parts, Etc. Pretty hard to find in the "Mart" stores. Call around first, or as Mike mentioned, order it online (get a couple).

On a side note........... at one time I actually prefered the Mothers clay bar to the Meguiar's Quik Clay. However, the new Meguiar's Quik Clay is quite nice. Either way, I think you will be fine.

I have not heard much about the Mother's Clay Bar. If you can't find the Meguiar's Clay, go with the Clay Magic (blue bar). It works very well and can be found at most auto parts stores. It comes with the spray lube. It is very easy to use.
