  • Detail shop does not know what pads they use

I wash my company car at a self serve place all of the time. I frequently have to go into the detailing business that is connected in order to get a reciept. I had to do this today and thought I'd ask the guy what brand of foam pads he liked best (as I have a lot of LC but really like the Meg pad better). He said he did not know what kind they used.... the distributor just dropped them off. I'm wondering if this might be a normal response or if the shop might be a little of a hack. I know detailers sometimes don't like to discuss what they use, but I can't see the brand of pads being any big secret. The shop is very nice and in a nice area. I just thought it was a little strange that the guy who details cars does not know what brand of pads he's using. Perhaps this is normal

What the workers in the back use, the reception, manager, or cashier does not necessairly have to know. lol...

For instance Buff & Shine makes decent buffing pads that are sold in bulk for commercial uses. The logo is usually not on those bulk pads.

I'm pretty sure this was one of the detailers. I did not know companies sold pad in bulk. That is probably what they were using.
