  • Which products are safe after a respray?

I've got a potential client that wants a 1-step correction after his car is resprayed and before he gets a clear-bra. Any recommendations, advice, tips?

I presume, I'd have to use a bodyshop safe polish. What about waxing? Is it a no-no to wax a car within 30 days of being resprayed/painted?

You'd have to see how bad the body shop leaves everything.

#80 has always been good, I believe #205/105, or Solo would be fine as well.

Thanks Murr. Good thing I have M80, M105, M205, and M86 available. What about pads? I plan on using the PC7424. What about LSP?

The paint will probably be soft when new, but the usual polishing pad, etc is a good start. Test spot of course.

And yeah, no wax for 30-90 days depending on manufacturer recommendation.

#80 does have a bit of a protective polymer in it.

As far as putting the clear bra on, they will probably wipe everything down with IPA, or other prep product to remove all oils, etc.

Tell your customer to get the clear bra installed ASAP. The new paint is prone to chipping and once it does a clear bra whould look hideous.

Only thing is I don't think you can seal fresh paint until it is cured. A clear bra would seal the paint more intensely than a wax would.

I think this is generally true but I have heard *RUMOR ALERT* that VentureShield is breathable but I would def. double check this before doing it!!!
