  • Good Shop Vac

I've been in the market for a shop vac for a long time now. I was looking for a fairly inexpensive one (<$100), local or with extremely low shipping rates, powerful, durable and not too bulky/heavy. Well, today my prayers were answered!

My local Pep Boys had a sale on a 4gal Snap-on shop vac. $60! That's right, $60 for a Snap-on shop vac. It comes with four attachments, a blower option and its wet/dry! I am in love. I tried it out on a car matt today (its raining so no go on the whole car) and it is really powerful. It feels pretty sturdy, I have heard a lot of good things about the company Snap-on and it is not too heavy and big so transporting to location will not be a problem. Also, the hose stretches out to the length you need without getting all tangled and wrapping around everything.

Anyone looking for a good shop-vac needs only to look to their closest Pep Boys, see if its on sale at the Pep Boys near you!

Wow, very nice. I would be on this if I already didn't have a home depot/lowes branded shop vac. (whatever their strongest was)

Here is a link to the one bought, I love it! I think it was only 100 @ Home Depot, they also have a really nice hose kit from duramaid but thats an extra 40, well worth it from what I have heard. Plus its got a blower, so dry times are faster IMO

They also had a micro attachment kit but it was an extra $15, I will probably buy it some time down the line.

I have this tiny one. link It's power is fantastic, and so is the price. It's nice and small to take with me places. The only thing is I wish it had a blowing function, and a little more storage capacity.

I've also had a large Rigid 5.5HP for the last probably 10 years, with no problems.

Also, the Snap-On items like vacuums, flashlights, and pressure washers that we're seeing in stores such as Pep Boys and Costco lately are not made by the same company that is Snap-On tools. It is just the name/brand that has been licensed to other companies to bring out consumer items with the Snap-On name.
