  • Should M16 look like this?

I got three cans of M16 from an ebay seller, and they all had/have the same consistency. I figured it would be okay, but the liquid appeared after using this can one time, so I'm now not so sure.

Is this how M16 usually is?

    Thank you.

I don't think so. I have a couple cans and they are kinda like candle wax.

I didn't think so, but can't understand what the heck happened.

Looks like the wax was exposed to high (or low) temps.

There are a couple threads about this, you could try heating the wax on the stove to get it back to normal. Some have had success, but it does change the chemical makeup of the wax and is not recommended by Meguiars. Search M16 and it should be pretty recent.

I have a feeling this eBay seller is sending out lots of bad wax and not knowing it.

I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem, as I know a number of members took advantage of the recent deal on ebay.

I sent the seller a message, and hopefully, there will be some recourse.

I'm gonna pass on heating the wax.

          Thanks, Colonel!

A few other members have had bad wax...

I bought 6 tins and not one is in bad shape.

The double boiler method seems to be a hit, heat slowly and you should be fine if you don't get new ones from the Ebayer.

            Good luck.

You should review the threads from people who have heated it up to reform the wax. Keep in mind that high temps can also cause the problem you mentioned... this is essentially what you'd be doing again. The reason why Megs does not recommend it as 1) they don't have control over the process and 2) it's possible that some of the chemicals can evaporate during this process. However, the wax is kept at a low temp... just enough to turn it to liquid. The people who have done this have shown that the wax sets up very nicely afterward and I'd not seen anyone have any problems afterward.

I accidently left my closed tin of m16 exposed to direct sunlight for a couple of hours and the wax completely melted into the same consistency as in your picture !

I mixed it really well into a smooth paste ,flatted the surface with some bakingpaper and then placed it in the refrigerator for a couple of hours.
When i took it out of the fridge it was back in its original form !
