I am thinking of giving some LC pads a try. Any suggestions on which pads to start with? I have a rotary and a DA. I am looking for pads for cutting, polishing and finishing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is a pretty good description of the color of pads and what they do .

Re: LC pads????
I am a huge fan of the LC 5.5" pads for the DA. They do a much better job than the 6.5" pads IMHO due to the fact that they spin easier.
I recommend LC Orange, White, and Green 5.5" pads for the DA.
Also, the 4" pads for the PC are excellent as well for tight places and for heavier cut with compounds.

For cutting, you use the cutting pads.
For polishing, you use the polishing pads.
And, well, for finishing, you simply use the finishing pads!!!
There are various cutting pads, polishing pads, and finishing pads in the usual LC lineup. The orange, white, and black variations are the most common.
The most usual product and pad combinations are:
M105 --> Orange Cutting Pad
M205 --> White Polishing Pad
D151 --> Green Polishing for one step correction or Black Finishing Pad for prepping... the combination is limitless with the D151; I have seen D151 being used with a wool pad for extreme repairs.
M07 --> Black Finishing Pad or other Finishing Pad
You can definitely play with different combinations to obtain your desired result.
Keep in mind that Lake Country has recently released some very innovative pads that have impressive leveling and cutting power, but finish extremely well compared to the current line of LC pads. I cannot wait to get my hands on some and give them a spin, no pun intended lol.
You may get better answers on forums like Autopia, as there are more LC pads users on that forum than on MOL. I also recommend that you logon to Autogeek Online. Autogeek is an authorized Meguiar's retailer and Mike Phillips is usually on there during AG business hours to answer questions like this.
