Hi guys! I am uncertain of how to use my UQD besides right after a wash. I have read that some people use it between washes, but I am scared to do that on my black Denali. How dirty can a car be to use UQD to clean it?? I washed my car a few days ago, but it has rained since and there is a good amount of dust on it. Is this a time to use it, or do I basically need to just wash it again and then use the UQD?
Sorry, I feel like that was a bunch of rambled questions, but Im just trying to get this straight
Good question. I understand your reluctance to use a quick detailer on a black car in-between washes. I know that many people do so without creating swirls, but I haven't learned that knack.
But here's a good rule that Mike Phillip's proposed when I asked precisely this question: never quick quick-detail one's car after it has been rained upon--wash the car instead. See: Wash or Wipe after Rain?
Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.

If you dont feel comfortable with it, dont use it in that situation.
I have a daily driver, parked outside, so I just wash it and dont worry about "what is light dust, and what is heavy dust". I'll just use the QD or UQD to remove bird droppings, hard water drops, etc in between washes.
If the vehicle has been driven in the rain you really should give it a proper washing.
Any of our mist & wipe products, including UQD, should only be used to remove light dust and fingerprints and are not a substitute for a proper wash when conditions warrant. Having said that, light dust accumulated after a day or two outside should be perfectly safe to remove with some UQD and a couple of good quality microfiber towels. When we're at car shows with a vehicle in the booth we wipe it down several times a day, whether it's black or not.
The black Spyker you see below was in our booth at Barrett-Jackson, West Palm Beach, FL, back in April. That little beauty was wiped down a dozen times a day and the paint was very soft. It looked fantastic all weekend long.
Wow! I didnt expect such quick replies! Thanks!! I will wash my baby and then use the UQD and maybe even try the UQW after that. Does that sound like a good weekly regimen?? It was just clayed and waxed last week with NXT 2.0. It looked beautiful and wet. I want to do regular maintanence to keep that look up as much as possible. I know it is very difficult with black, but im always up for a good challenge!!
