  • Waxing plastic??

Is it OK to use Cleaner wax or NXT 2.0 on plastic?? A friend of mine has a box truck with the plastic bubble that hangs over the cab..

    Re: Waxing plastic??

As long as the surface is smooth/glossy, it will work fine. It is the textured plastic that the wax can dry white on.

If the compound didn't work, then the cleaner wax will most likely not work. What compound did you use and with what material did you apply it with? Did you clay bar it first to remove any surface contamination of the rust?

It could be that the rust has actually stained your friend's paint, but let's first see what you used to try to attack it already!

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

        I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
        Remove swirls my friends.

Turtle Wax is like a Rocks n' a can so you probably can't get the rust off.

I recommend Ultimate Quik Wax for plastic and unusual surfaces.
