  • Where to store products in the winter?

My garage is pretty old so I wouldn't say it keeps the cold out pretty well.

    The lowest temperature around where I live gets close to -10 C, ( 10.4 F I think )

The garage probably will not get that cold but just to be safe, is it OK to leave my products in the garage or should I move them all inside?

    Last winter was horrible, eh?!

It wouldn't hurt to move them all to the inside. You don't have box loads of liquid detailing supplies, do you?

It's getting there, but I guess I'll haul my measly collection inside when it gets colder !

Might want to put a thermometer in there, just for fun.

Main thing is not to let your products freeze.

Best to move everything to a warmer location during the winter. You really don't want anything to freeze.

Agreed- I didn't move my stuff in last winter and I ended up tossing about $200 worth of products this past spring. Won't do that again!

I seen a local mobile detailer store his stuff in ice chests.....made little brackets to hang bottles on and what not, he said it keeps them from freezing and getting too hot....

You always keep the products at room temperature as that way they will have a shelf life of 3-5 years...

Even longer . Just don't let them get exposed to freezing temeratures.

That's right, at least 3-5 years...and the products will often last longer. This is true.

Re: Where to store products in the winter?

A lot of my main detailing stuff that I use on almolst all of my details I keep in this cabinet, my garage is heated so the products should be fine. I keep my G110, pads, brushes, 400 microfibers, applicators, wash mitts etc etc on a another rack in the garage:

You cannot see everything in the cabinet but I its stocked.

Then I have my backup supply in the basement in case there is an emergency:

I was thinking if I should do that too, but ins't it bothersome bringing all the stuff out for a detail?

(and wow Tuck that is a huge collection )

I plan to keep my products in my room for the winter; yes I know how crazy that sounds. It's the only area I can think of that it will be protected from the cold and any kind of harm.
