We have a 1974 Volkswagen Thing that was repainted about a year ago, and were still putting her back together. But when we get finished I plan on giving it a full detail. My only question here is about wetsanding. Its got some pretty bad orange peel and overspray from the paint shop that m105 or claying cant even take off. I planned on giving the whole thing a light wetsand with 2000 grit then rotary with M150 and following up with the PC and M205. Any suggestions, comments, or concerns? Thanks!

Re: Question about one of my SS projects...
sounds like a good plan.
no compound will get rid of the orange peel but the wetsanding will although I'm not sure if 2000 will be aggressive enough to remove the orange peel. You may need to start with 1000 than move up to the 2000 before using the rotary with the M105 to remove the sanding marks. Done right the M105 should finish down pretty close to LSP ready.
M205 with a PC should give you the end result of a beautiful finishWhat am I, fly-paper for morons?
