how to keep my new paint new

Hi all,

I have new black paint on my 97 mazda miata, new as of thursday. My concern is keeping it looking as nice as it is now. It seems like when I first bought the car I could not wash it without putting swirls in it. Will I be able to avoid this on black paint?
