  • M20/M21 how much different are they?

I was just wondering if you can tell any difference between M20, and M21.

M20 Polymer Sealant has light cleaners and long lasting wax, is very similar to A12 Cleaner Wax.

M21 has almost non amount of cleaners, so because of this it's not considered to be a Cleaner/Wax. It's very similar to NXT

      M20 is also a carnuba/synthetic blend.

      M21 is all synthetic.

I use either M20, M21 2.0 or NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 as my LSP. But on certain vechiles I just know what will look better.

I always use NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0 on blue for example:

And then I always use M20 on white:

In the end I usually just stick to M21 2.0, NXT 2.0 and M20.

You just have to find what works for you.

Ehh... #21 2.0 is going to be the better protecting. Unless you need the cleaning properties for a quick detail (or insanely cheap), I wouldnt worry too much about it.

I usually use M20 because it's just very easy to apply and wipe off, rarely leaving steaks and that is a cleaner wax that will remove some of the really light defects that could be present on the surface giving clarity to it.

But again M21 2.0 has the Hydrophobic tech, so if you like it than you could benefit from it.

You don't have to buy a gallon size. Maybe get a smaller size and give both a try and in the future you stick with one that you like more. Wax is all about testing

Also check out this older thread: M20 vs M21.

                  Hey Murr,

Have you tried both products? M20 will last just as long as M21 if not slightly longer. So while M21 may look slightly better on some colors, I would give the edge to M20 for durability and that is coming from someone who has used M20 since the 80's.

M20 is a polymer/wax blend with a light cleaner. It works awesome and remains one of my favorite products of all time!

                    Hey,

M20 does not come in a gallon. You can get it in the 64 oz (M2064) or the 16 oz (M2016) versions. But still for $20 for the 1/2 gallon, wow! that is a deal!!!!!!

Have not used #20, I was basing on the advertising of Nxt 2.0.

Been using ColorX as my cleaner/wax with being a daily driver, and since I do by hand sometimes. ... not sure if #20 would be too mild.

Does M20 darken the paint like everything else or is it a clear wax like 16.

I picked up 2 half-gallons of M20 from eBay at $20 per jug (free shipping!) Most retailers sell it around $35, plus shipping so I couldn't pass up this deal. I haven't tried it myself, but from what I have seen on the forums, M20 is a very, very nice product. I know Mark Kleis (sp?) has used M20 a lot and his work speaks fir itself. Plus, anything that gets the Tim Lingor seal of approval, must be a great product!
