  • Microfiber towels? Questions?

How long are Microfiber towels good for? I have some I bought at Costco a couple of years ago. I am thinking it might be time for a new batch. They are 80% Polyester and 20% Polyamide. Is that OK quality? They do not feel as plush as Mequiars but they feel pretty good. Anyone have an opinion on these or a brand called "executive" I saw at BJ's.

    Thanks

I think that is a personal preference, there is no "expiry date" for MF towels. I guess you can throw it away when it rips?

Sometimes after many washes my MF towels lose that "static" feel to it. What I usually do is I use the older MF towels for tougher jobs that I wouldn't use my new MF towels on, (such as cleaning rims, etc)

The reason why you think the Meguiars feels more "plush" is because some MF towels are made more "plush" for different purposes, ( buffing, removing wax)

Someone once told me on this forum : You can never have too many MF towels.

So, go ahead and buy the executive brand and tell us how it is

Before you replace them, try this.

Some times they need to be rejuvenated. When you wash them, add a couple ounces of vinegar in the final rinse. Then run the rinse cycle again, This insures that the vinegar is completely rinsed away. This should rejuvenate them that they work as good as new.

I have "Sam's Club" mf's and some "Chemical Guy's" towels. The CG towels are definitely a lot better towel and I use them for removing wax and detail spray. The SC towels are used for everything else. Both towels work very well and have held up well. I wash with Woolite and use Vinegar in the rinse cycle. Washed by themselves, no other laundry.

Yeah, I have a variety of towels, and use the other brands for dirtier jobs.
