  • Another winter washing approach?

What do you guys think of just using the rinse cycle of the coin op to just rinse off salt and dirt during winter. And maybe QD it after.

What I currently do is use rinse cycle, then use my meguiars DC soap and mitt then use anothe rinse cycle to wash off soap? But this is harder to do as it takes more time and I have to do it at night at the coin op shop.

I don't think it would be a good idea to QD your car without thoroughly washing it and removing the dirt/road salts on it... When you just spray it with water, you're not removing the dirt that's sitting on top of the surface.. This will cause scratches in the car's finish... I don't think there's any alternative.. Maybe you can QD your car everyday to prevent large amounts of dust from accumulating on the paint.

    Hope this helps...

Suggestion. Get 2 -5 gallon paint or pickle buckets with lids. Fill with hot/warm soapy water. Take it with you to the car wash. 5 gallons of soapy ought to be enough to soak the car with soapy water and have enough left to use the mitt. Use the other to rinse off the mitt. Admit its a small hassle, but it will do the trick.
