I was using Swirl-X and a buffer, but it's not removing all the scratches and swirls. I want my paint to look flawless. Would getting some M105 or 205 help get rid of the smaller imperfections? (Use with a buffer) They are very minor but it's still driving me crazy.

Re: Have a paint swirl question
Hi Andrew!
It's pretty impossible to answer that with pictures, let alone without. Paint can vary in terms of hardness and thickness, and likewise swirls can vary from shallow to very, very deep.
If they are typical wash-induced swirls, then most likely a more aggressive product will be able to remove them. There are several choices between SwirlX (least aggressive consumer polish) and M105 (most aggressive professional compound).
You may want to grab a bottle of Ultimate Compound give that a shot, and see how it does.
Also, what type of buffer and pads are you using?

Re: Have a paint swirl question
The paint on the vehicle is only 3 months old. I wet sanded it about a month ago with 2000 grit paper so all the scratches that remain are from that and are very fine. Swirl-X has been applied many times with my buffer. It's just a basic 1 speed dual action buffer and I've used both polishing pads and foam pads. It's working but I just want to try something that's a little higher up on the product line. I'm looking into getting a Meguiar's buffer as well since it's speed variable.
I'm sure if I applied swirl-x another time or two I could get them to all come out but I'm going to need something else down the road anyways.

Re: Have a paint swirl question
Seems like you are trying to remove sanding marks from the paint. To remove this you would have to use something more aggressive than SwirlX.
Now sounds like you are using a random orbital machine. Chances are that this machine won't have the power to assist you removing them. Maybe something like a G110 + M105 could help out but it just recommended to remove sanding marks with a rotary machine. The problem using a machine like this is that you can cause mayor damage to the paint.
How big is the section you sanded? Pictures?

Re: Have a paint swirl question
If you are going to get a new machine then I would recommend something like G110 or Flex.
Do a test spot with Machine/Polishing Pad/M105 and see how it works out. If it does the I would go with this combination and work on small sections at a time. Don't try to correct a complete panel of half of a panel at a time. Small section and take your time
Good luck

Re: Have a paint swirl question
I'm going to order the G110 soon and a couple more boxes of products to add to the shelf. Thank You! One more question.... I see a lot of people have a status of "Meguiar detailer." Is that just a title people use for their use of meguiars products or are they approved by meguiars? Just wondering
