  • scratched plastic GPS display

I have a Lowrance GPS Expedition C handheld unit and have scratched the plastic GPS display. Has anyone out there used the Meguiar's X product to repair/enhance the clarity of the plastic GPS display screen?

    Cheers

Is it the plastic part that is in FRONT of the LCD that displays your stuff?

If so, you can use PlastX or M105 by hand.....

I use M105 then follow with PlastX a lot. I start with PlastX, as with anything, start least aggressive first!

Provided you're talking about a scratch on a very smooth, high gloss plastic screen then you can safely use PlastX. If, on the other hand, the screen has a matte finish to it (or other non smooth and high gloss surface) you're probably out of luck.

I have purchased and used the Plast X product using a terry cloth... seems to have brightened up most of the display... a few of the deeper scratches i think I will have to live with... now to put on some invisible shield to protect what I have recovered....

        Thanks for the input....

the scratched portion is indeed the plastic cover, not the LCD display.... you note to do it by hand... I have done so as I did not have a buffer... should I use a buffer or just continue to use hand / elbow grease????
