  • Bug and tar?

I have finally run out of my bug and tar stuff from, like, 1970, and I need something new. The stuff I used never worked and I was curious if meguiars had a product that could get any bug and tar off. No matter how old or large the bug or tar is. This is something very important for me because I am going to clay bar, wax, buff, and protect my whole minivan next Saturday and I need something that will get everything off for sure by then.

Meguiar's have Gold Class Bug & Tar Remover. Spray and let it sit for about 10 mins. I like to gently rub in with my fingers to aggitate. After, wash over the parts you have done and re-apply wax.

So should I wash the car first or spray the stuff on first? Sorry..My old bug and tar was in a can and you put some on a papertowel and rubbed it on. It was all chunky and had yellow things in it.

I like to apply the bug and tar first, even spraying it on a small piece of paper towel so it really stays over the bug/tar. Then after letting it sit a bit, wash the car.

              Yes, it is safe.

                    Re: Bug and tar?

I have found that using the bug and tar remover for bigger chunks of stuff, you have to let it dwell and work. I never let it dwell more then 10 minutes. Always has worked for me.

oh.. i'll try to elaborate on that more, sorry for the confusion. What I meant was the asphalt residue coming from newly constructed roads made of asphalt material and not cement?

My experience is that, when i ran into newly constructed asphalt roads, some of the asphalt residue sticks to my paint.

                      hope i'm clearer now

Yeah, letting the Bug and Tar Remover soak on that a short time should help.

Even using a bit of paper towel as mentioned to keep the B&T in place on the worst bits.
