I've got a Craftsman 10" random orbit buffer. I would love to get a hold of a PC but I just don't have the $$ for it. Maybe for XMAS...
Anyway, in the meantime, I would like to know which pads to use on the RO Buffer. I used a terry cloth pad on the first go around just to see how it worked. This ended up leaving minor swirls here and there. That made me realize that I'm more than likely using the wrong pad.
My typical routine is:
1) Scratch-X (since I actually use my truck as a truck
)
2) Deep Crystal #2 Polish
3) Gold Class Wax
I've got a Black Blazer and a Metallic Patriot Blue Dakota. This process works good for my schedule since it doesn't take too long. It also gives decent (not excellent) results. Makes my vehicles look better than most, in my opinion.
The Blazer has swirl marks throughout which Scratch-X has made a slight improvement on. I'm looking to use #9 (Swirl Remover 2.0) on it, but don't know which pad would work.
Please help me figure out which pad does what and how it will fit into my routine.
THANKS,
Rookie
