  • ?? on 3M clear bra

I have a customers Porsche Carrera 4S in the garage currently getting a full detail. The car has a 3M clear bra on it. On a few places there are some light scratches on the clear bra you can see at the right angle. customer asked if i could possibly get the scratches out.
i never tried on clear bra before.

Anything that can be done on these things and anyone have suggestions on any methods and product that worked?
What am I, fly-paper for morons?

Is it an actual bra or a clear protective coatings sprayed onto the paint?

If it's an actual bra, then use Meguiars PlastX or M105.

clear protective coating. But I don't believe it's sprayed on but rather adhered on somehow.

pour some rubbing alcohol over it first and see what it does. my clear bra installer said it somehow covers/fills-in the fine scratches

          Try NXT 2.0.

I'd go with the lighest abrasive as possible and I'm fairly certain that PlastX is made for hard plastics, not soft protective layers.

If it's adhered on,it should be clear plastic?

You'll have to determine what material it is.

Re: ?? on 3M clear bra

Clear bras are just a thick layer of plastic coating that can be removed. They are designed to protect from bugs and small rocks.

I'd use a product with very minimal cleaning abilities, PlastX very well could be too strong. NXT will have some filling properties and leave some additional protection.

We have had this discussion before, try the search function and see what you find out. I'm pretty sure Mike Phillips had chimed in on this one as well.

Barry, before trying anything I would contact the manufacturer and get the advice from them. They will know best as to what you can do to the clear bra.

If it was your car, I'd say try products out and see what happens. However, since this is on a customer's car, and a Carrera at that, I wouldn't try anything out on it UNLESS you are absolutely 100% positive it will not damage it.
