I am having trouble figuring out how to get the wheel wells of my car clean. I scrub them and they look great until they dry...then they turn back to brown. Is there a product I should be using or a technique that I am missing. please help!

What part of the wheelwell. Any plastic parts Id go with some APC and giving it good cleaning, followed by some M39/40 and dressed with some ASD.

Meguiars All Season Dressing and M40 Vinyl and Rubber Cleaner Conditoner will work for dressing the wheelwells.

If if you do not get them 100% clean you can still dress them.

            Re: wheel wells

I spray APC (All Purpose Cleaner from the Detailer line) and when done, spray with M40 or ASD and let it drip dry, our Yukon and Neon has black plastic/coated wheel wells and look great when done!

ASD is a little more durable than M40.....

Our wheel wells have tar slung on them and not perfectly clean, after dressing they look fine. A lot of grime bounces around in there so don't sweat it if you don't get them perfectly clean before dressing.

              Re: wheel wells

In all liklihood you will never get your wheel wells 100% clean. Mine are pretty messed up from dried on cement and paint from the street, no amount of APC (All Purpose Cleaner) or even Westley's Bleche-Wite has done anything to change that. I dress them with Hyperdressing (after a good cleaning to get the grime off) and they look beautiful.

Here is another vote for the combo of All Purpose Cleaner and All Season Dressing. Woks very well.

What I have yet to achieve is 100% perfection in the wheelwells. But I am working on it.

An easy way to shine them up is to spray Tire Foam in them.

If you plan to use the tire foam...and I do often...park in the street befor you spray the wheelwells. The gunk will drip and stain the driveway.

Ah, this situation will be a great time for me to try out my new Body Solvent...followed by some 4:1 APC plus scrubbing and rinsing, drying, then finally 3:1 Hyper Dressing .

I use APC+ and a brush. I then spray on Stoner Trim Shine, which I picked up at the local NAPA store. I think it cost me $6 per can.
