The trim looks the same on my parents' 1995 Volvo, hyperdressing works but only for a short time. I really don't know of any long term solutions, I've heard Mother's "Back to Black" is a pretty decent option.

HyperDressing would work. I like to use Supreme Shine Protectant on exterior trim, applied with an Mf applicator.

It also looks like it might be stained. Have you tried scrubbing it at all to see if those run stains come out? Either way, be sure the surface is clean before applying your dressing.

            I've had good long-term success with M40 on a client's 99 M3.

I'd say wash the car first, do your detail work if any, then spend a good deal of time with a terry app pad and work the M40 into the trim for a while. Yes, some will get on the nearby paint, but that's ok.

Then wash again and do what you need. The trim on the M3 is still looking great to this day, roughly 4.5months after I did the car (I see my boss' car every day at work ).

+1. I really like the GC Trim Detailer. I loved the way it restored the faded black trim on my wife's Taurus, and it lasted longer than I expected it to.

Does Gold Class clean trim as well? I have some black trim around my window that needs some TLC.

It would be wise to clean your trim, with APC or APC+, but the Trim Detailer does have a mild cleaning ability.

IMHO, Mother's Back to Black is not very good.

I look forward to Ultimate Protectant for these kind of situations
