Spot repair

Car is only 2 years old and actually the paint looks pretty good except a couple of scratches and a nasty etching from a bird dropping. Can I just fix these spots with something like Ultimate Compound or ScratchX 2.0 and do the rest of the car with something mild like SwirlX. Or do I have to do the entire car with the same product for a more even shine.

You can certainly do a spot repair, then SwirlX over everything. You mig ht want to do a test panel first, so you see if the fixed spots blend in properly.

I did that on my wifes mini-van. I did the hood with UC because of scratches , and the whole van with Swirl X.
