  • What products best for 2006 miata

I recently purchased a 2006 miata mx-5, true red and with only 300 miles on it . What is the right product or products to use on it to keep it new and shiny and protected. Paint still looks like new, good reflection, no swirls or scratches or bug remnant defects, but isn;t quite as slick as new.

    # 7 show car glaze by hand, orbital or d/a will give you that feel and topped with nxt 2.0 or #21 synthetic sealant 2.0 will deepen the color and protect it.

      I would suggest the following:

      Wash with Gold Class shampoo
      Clay with Smooth Surface Kit
      Clean with DC1 paint cleaner
      Polish with #7
Wax with Gold Class, M16 or M26 (I like these better than NXT on darker colors like red)

Yep! I like your choice of cars! I use NXT 2.0 and it makes the True Red absolutely sparkle. Crystal clear highlilghts.

Mine is a garage queen also with less than 400 miles. I occasionally do an extremely light dust with the Original California Car Duster and then do a quick detail with Meguiar's M135 Synthetic Spray Detailer. You can use Ultimate Quik Detailer, but if bought in the gallon size, the M135 costs c. 1/3rd as much. http://autodetailingsolutions.net/m13516.html I also use a beater CCD which my neighbor donated for the wheels. If you do it after each outing, it keeps 'em perfectly clean. I also ordered a dozen microfiber towels from http://autodetailingsolutions.net/ads-tw.html

What some of us say is best may not be to you. Also, have you polished it out before? If not I find it hard to believe you dont have even some minor swirling without seeing pictures.

That being said you will probably want to wash, clay, and polish, topping with your wax of choice. All of the megs waxes are great and Im sure you will like all of them so it is really just which one you decide to pick up
