For bug and tar removal between washes is Maguires bug and tar remover recommended? And if used will it remove the wax? And if so can you touch up with Ultimate Spray Wax or do you have to do the whole car?

If the bug splatter is bad enough. Use the bug and tar remover. You will have to re- wax the cleaned area.

Most of the time I find that if you get after the bug splatter quickly, a qd spray usually takes car of the splatter if it is few and far between.

Laying a wet paper towel over the bugs, or a wet paper towel with some car wash soap can do the trick sometimes, when trying to avoid re-waxing.

I have some video I shot on a road trip a while ago... give me 30 minutes and I will edit a video for this and upload it to YouTube.

I use a spray bottle with a "strong" solution of Gold Class car wash and water mixed in it. After first hosing down the car to remove the loose stuff, I spray the remaining bug guts with the solution and let it soak until I get to the area for washing. Then the majority come off without too much passion. Having a good coat of NXT 2.0 on there first helps also. Before doing a road trip, I coat the front of the car with 'Bug Off', it works, then they hose off.

yes normally the bug/tar remover WILL remove the wax coat. Ultimate spray wax is only something you use IN BETWEEN your normal waxing procedures. And you don't need to redo the whole car assuming you only spray the bug remover on one spot.

The video is uploading now- give it 20 minutes or so to finish and process and it will be posted here.

This method will not remove wax or scratch the paint. It also uses very basic supplies.

                  Here you go!

Sorry for the delay... I accidentally reset Firefox when it like at 90% uploading, got frustrated, and took a TV break

Thanks for the video. The towel method should work out for me.
