  • Meguiar's Chemical Resistant Sprayer

    I have a question:

Which Detailer line products is the chemical-resistant bottle sprayer intended for? I'm assuming Super Degreaser, APC, and Hyper Dressing. Did I leave anything out? Another way to word this question is: What's safe for using a regular sprayer. When I say "safe," I mean what will not deteriorate the sprayer quickly. Thanks!

Well, the easy answer (for me ) is to simply refer you to the ADS website where you can go to the Detailers product page. If you click on a product such as "Body Solvent" you will see at the bottom of that page the suggested spray head for that product, which in the case of Body Solvent is the Chemical resistant sprayer. Products such as the shampoo's and the like are not meant for sprayer use and so there won't be a recommendation. I was a bit surprised myself that APC is good for a regular Tolco spray head but APC+ warrants using a Chem Resist sprayer..... I've been using regular sprayers for both and so far no issues. The body solvent is rough on the Chem Resist sprayer..... the suggestion of rinsing it with water after use is a sound one... even if it IS a pain...... and DAMHIKT.

Flushing the sprayers after isn't that bad. I bought a home depot spray bottle that i keep water in for just this occasion. I just stick the used sprayer in the bottle of water and spray away til clean water comes through. Done and done.

Ok, well..... now that I'm feeling REAL stupid I suppose you have an equally simple answer for how to keep track of those stupid bottle caps that I always lose about 3 milliseconds after I rip them off and jam a sprayhead onto the bottle!

I'm just kidding of course, Alex that's a great idea... I have no idea why I never thought of keeping a spare bottle filled with water in the garage to do that.... quick and easy. Thanks!

I use the gray chemical resistant sprayheads for all my bottles. All you have to do is adjust the spray pattern if you want a fine mist to a straight stream. IME, there's no need for the other sprayheads.

Also Wheel Brightener, its one of the harshest chemicals I use. It kind of makes parts of my hands sting when I spill concentrated Wheel Brightener on them, gloves are a good idea.

Haha yeah. Hand stingage = not good usually.

Indeed. I'm going to pick up (read: steal) a box of gloves from work on thursday.

How do sprayers for similarly harsh chemicals like Westley's Bleche-Wite and Purple Power not degrade despite the fact that they never get flushed out and they are not chemical resistant?

I would think that either they ARE chemical resistant or the sprayer lasts at least long enough for one bottle. Do you use the same Bleche-White bottle and just re-fill it and it's still good?
