I'm not sure wetsanding is an option on glass headlights. You could try M105 with a DA, or a specific glass polish.
IME, glass polishing is good to do early on, before defects, as a way to keep clean and smooth. Once you get scratches like from the wipers or pits from rocks/salt/bugs and deep water spots, it is very hard (if not impossible) to remove with our common tools.
If they're glass, they're probably also sealed-beams. Get new lights man. You really can't polish glass in any reasonable way, M105 won't do a thing on a DA. You would need a specific glass polishing compound, which you're going to have a hell of a time finding because it's NOT recommended that the public try to polish glass.
If a tree falls in the forest and there's nobody there to record the event, how can you be certain that there was a tree or even a forest to begin with?
thanks for the input. They are glass headlights, but i cant buy new ones, as these are retrofited with acura TL projectors. They are just a little hazy. Since there arent many places around that sells cleaning products, im gonna try the ultimate compound. These are fairly clean, about a 7-10. but i want them to be a 9 or 10
that was my first thought, but the lense looks you can see a ring where the projector shines through. is there any way to fix that or not. One thing i thought of was: on my moms mustang, with glass housings, i used rubbing compound and a powerball attached to a corded drill. then finished up with polish and wax. so i may try this method as well
I have a few vehicles with glass headlights, and have never seen a haze that wasn't simply dirt on the outside. Glass does not oxidize like plastic does, which is why I'm still wondering about the inside of the lens being dirty. I think, if anything, you'd end up scratching the glass trying to clean/polish it with aggressive products.
so my lights got here yesterday. I see what he was talking about, but his explanation sucked. They are just dirty. They are clear straight on, but kinda yellow(not much) at an angle. What can i use to clean this up with. I tried rubbing compound, and ultimate compound. They came alot cleaner, but still just a little discoloration. I have no access to the professional line products. So what would yall recommend
I'm still confused by this thread. These are glass headlights on an Acura? Post a picture of the headlights, please. What kind of car is it? Maybe I'm confused and thought you said it was an Acura.

A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.
