Anyone have a preference to use a MF Wash mit over a MF sponge?

Just get the wash mitt and don't put your hand in it (otherwise known as mike phillips style).

I was skeptical at first using the wash mitt. Now I swear by them. I would go with the mitt.

Definitely the mitt. Oddly enough, I use my MF sponge to remove wax sometimes.

I just bought a megs MF wash mit and do not care for it. It seems to pick up and hold little to no soap. I prefer the lamb skin mit. It gets very sudsy. I know, it doesn't matter if I can see the suds, but it makes me feel better.

Many of us have been using the mitt that way for years and is nothing new and is definitely not attributed to any one person or method.

The reasons to hold the mitt on the outside instead of having your hand inside it:

                1. Half way through the panel, you can flip it over to the clean side

                2. When you rinse the mitt in the rinse bucket, you are able to squeeze the water out of it so that you can absorb as much soapy water solution as possible out the soap bucket (rememebr 2-3 bucket method)

                3. It is just plain easier. Just make sure that you do not let the cuff of the mitt hit the paint. Some people cut them off...

                4. I use real lambswool mitts. I check inside the mitt to make sure I see a real animal hide. That way I know they are the real lambswool.

I took a mitt and had a sponge sewn into it.

sponge for the wheels, 2 mitts for the car, 1 top 1 bottom.

And the one reason to put ones hand within the mitt is ... so one doesn't drop it ... which I am, apparently, wont to do. That darn mitt just insists on jumping out of my hand.

Man, when I drop my mitt, I throw it away without taking a second glance.

The mitt will literally **** up every single piece of dirt, pebble, sand, twigs , ANYTHING it touches on the ground. Sigh, I lost 2 mitts that way already.

                            Hey Al,

I have not had problems with dropping mitts. But I do drop the clay once in a while. Of course it gets tossed, but I now use a clean drop cloth on the floor when claying just in case.

Not to be biased or anything, but Meguiar's MF mitt seems to be the most slippery one I use that also carries the most water. I have used other more expensive mitts, but Meg's is the best in terms of performance and price. For 4.99, you could literally get five or six, one for each section of the car.
