  • Should have taped

2009 Chevy Impala, has hard plastic with a rough surface trim pieces on the door pillars. What’s the best way to remove wax and or polish from these pieces? And what product to use to clean or shine these pieces?

Meguiar's APC+, M39, or M40 will usually do the trick for cleaning some wax off of trim pieces like you described.

APC+ is a pure cleaner, M39 is a vinyl, rubber, and plastic dedicated cleaner, and M40 has light cleaning agents plus built-in protection that will add a little shine.

A little toothpaste (has to be the regular white kind) with an old toothbrush will take that right off. And Ultimate Quik Wax does a quick and easy job of spiffing up exterior plastics.

I'd say an APC or M40 would be the best approach.
