  • Wheel Brightener

A couple of months ago I ordered Wheel Brightener from the Detailer Line. I also ordered the dilution bottle and chemical resistant sprayer. After just a few uses, the sprayer no longer works. I can only assume the WB ate the guts out of the sprayer. Has anyone else had this problem?
I diluted the WB per the bottle's recommendation, and am very happy with how it cleans.

I'm guessing you did not order the chemical-resistant sprayer. Wheel Brightener is very harsh and some precautions have to be taken.

Anytime you have acidic/aggressive chemicals.. Is after use, take the sprayer out of the bottle and clear it out with water, so there isn't anything left inside.

I would follow what imacarnut recommends, when you are done clear the sprayer with water.

Did you order from ADS? If so, is your sprayer grey?

I always follow imacarnut advice. When done always rinse out the Chemical resistant sprayer.

I ordered it from Meguiar's Direct, and yes the sprayer is grey.

Use to happen to me all the time and now I do what iamacarnut suggests and flush the sprayer out with water and all ok now.

Same here too, after ruining my chemical resistant sprayer by not flushing it out with water.

                    Re: Wheel Brightener

I experience the same problem occasionally with the sprayer head on the Wheel Brightner and some of the other products in the Detailer line.

I have noticed that an airlock (for lack of a better description) forms in the chemical resistant sprayer head when it has been standing unused for several days. My normal fix which works every time is as follows:
                    1. Remove the sprayer head from the bottle
                    2. Pull the tube out of the sprayer head
                    3. Pump the sprayer head several times
                    4. Rinse the tube in clean water
                    5. Push the tube back into the sprayer head
                    6. Screw the sprayer back onto the product bottle
                    7. Pump the sprayer several times until normal service is restored
