  • Waxing problem caused by the evening humidity

After preparing my finish I put a layer of GC Wax. It was quite late in the evening, and air humidity increased that made my car covered with a smooth moisture.
What should I have done? Wipe the wax even if swipe test was failed or wait with the wax on my paint till the morning until its dry?

Actually, I wiped it off despite it was a bit smeary. And what do you think?

Can you see the moisture? If you see tiny droplets of moisture and you really want to wax your car, I guess you should have wiped one area dry, apply wax, then continue.

Wiping wax off when it's not dry will not do any damage, it only wastes $$$ .

Waiting til the morning to wipe off the wax is not a good idea. It will make the wax harder to remove, it might catch dust/ dirt, and it also might cause streaking.

I suggest you remove the wax and do it again some other day.

      Yes....same as above.

You don't want to leave it till the next day. For one,the wax will have been on for too long and second the possibilty of having debris is high.

Thank you guys for your concern and answers

The moisture on a car appeared after I put a layer of wax. It was a quite sudden phenomenon – if it would happen 15 minutes later, my wax would pass the swipe test. And I would succeed with buffing it.
Anyway, good to know I did the right thing – as I said before, I wiped the wax off, despite it was kinda smeary. Tomorrow morning I’ll put another layer. What to do if the finish will get some dust? Wipe it off with detailer? Witch would be better – SD or UQD?
