  • Which microfiber to use with UQD??? Where to buy??

There are so many different microfiber towels on the market. Which ones work best with meguiar's ultimate quick detail?

Where can I buy these in bulk?

I've been using Autozone brand microfibers and also the cheap Viking brand microfibers from Kragen. Are these bad for my black car?

Which microfibers do you recommend and where should I buy them? thanks!

Well, if removing dirt, I like to use a Supreme Shine.

But if wiping down after a wash, I like the Ultimate Wipes.

I have bought quite a few cloths from autodetailingsolutions.com.

It's hard to say fairly which microfiber is best for use with Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Detailer. There are many microfiber towels out there and most of them are decent for even the most delicate of surfaces. Make sure you buy the ones that are designed for automotive paint. The ones designed for paint are more refined than the ones designed for interior detailing or wheel cleaning.

I personally own microfiber towels ranging from Autozone brands (70/30) to the Cobra and Adams Polishes brands. I could not tell the difference whatsoever. While most may say that the Autozone brand is of poor quality, I find it to be very good value.

Unfortunately, not many places sell microfiber towels in bulk. As mentioned, Auto Detailing Solutions sells microfiber towels in bulk. Their own brand of generic towels (comes in blue and gold) is also very good. I have six of them and they are up to par with the Meguiar's Supreme Shine Towel.

If you could get the Autozone microfiber towels while they are on sale then do it. They come to around $1 a piece if you get them on sale. They are not bad for black cars. I use the Autozone and other generic brand of towels on my black daily driver.

I personally prefer the Cobra and Adams Polishes towels. But if you are on a budget or if you want something you could grab quickly off the shelves, go with the Autozone brand towels.

Again, no matter which brand you buy, make sure you get the kind designed specifically for auto paint.

For paint related items, Supreme Shines and Ultimate wipes are all that touch the paint. Now for other tasks, I have a bunch of Wal-Mart microfibers.

I have and have used a bunch of different microfiber towels. For the removal of waxes and quick detailing spray, I prefer Megs' Ultimate Wipes. They are simply different from, and IMO superior to, ordinary microfiber towels. Get three of them and see for yourself.

I like the orange Vroom MF I get at Target. Often on sale and very reasonable price. They feel plush and I use them for UQD daily'

I would agree. Some wal-marts carry 2 packs of premium towels which are superior to the 8 packs they sell. Bigger towels and more plush.

                  Here is what I do.

                  Supreme Shine MF's = QD'ing, claying.

Ultimate Wipes = wax and polish removal tighter nap makes it easier

I have some of the wallyworld ones but they are mainly used for glass and interiors, not paint.

                  Andy

PS. Ultimate wipes are my towel of choice.

I like the supreme shine micros and have had no bother. Ultimate wipes I would like to get.

Just beware of cheaper ones. They do come in handy though, for doing areas where you don't want to mark or ruin your good ones. Maybe the plastic parts in your engine bay or some parts of the interior.

I have a dozen of these. Since the one side is more plush than the other side, I just use the softer side. Do you use both sides and have you found any problems doing so?

After buying a dozen or so Ultimate Wipe's I use nothing else on my paint, unless they are all dirty I grab a Supreme Shine.

All the rest that I have (from walmart, pepboys, Sams etc.....) feel rough by comparison and are reserved for wheels, interior etc....
