You have rated M205 to be more aggressive than SwirlX. This seems to confirm what MeguiarsAsia from youtube is saying. However, according to Mike Phillips M205 is less aggressive than SwirlX.

I am not sure who is correct, but it makes sense that M205 is more aggressive than SwirlX, as M205 is designed to refine surfaces previously prepared by the extremely aggressive M105.

Does anybody know if M205 is in fact more aggressive than SwirlX. Sometimes I am really confused on whether to use M205 or SwirlX after I have prepared the surface with M105. They both seem to yield identical results side-by-side.
Here is my thought regarding your concern given that SMAT polishes are very dependent on work time for cut. The longer they are worked the more paint is removed. When we speak about cut regarding SMAT polishes we are really talking about the rate of paint removal vs. the amount of paint removal.

So M205 and SwirlX might have a different rate of removal, thus a different cut, but M205 is more likely to be applied via a professional machine with more aggressive techniques vs. SwirlX which would is more likely to be applied by hand. Thus when used in the most likely mannor, M205 should likely have a faster rate of defect removal. Does that make sense?

I understand that there is a lot of products that could be added to that chart, but three Meg's products that come to mind that could be used on that chart are DC1 (I know it's being discontinued in the USA), Cleaner Wax and ColorX. Where would they fit in?
Anybody can make a car look good with the right products.

GREAT chart and thanks for the explanation of colors. I was wondering about the blue lines.
I am also new to using a DA, my first time here. Nevertheless, so far I am getting a great looking finish using M105 alone. Should I follow up with M205, or D151? Then go over it with M07.
I was also wondering if it was ok, or not to use a red or maroon pad with a DA?

I agree. It is rated .5 more aggressive, taking into account the unique properites of SMAT polishes.

Great work on the chart, Todd, and terrific insight into the variables of paint polishing, intended product usage and how that impacts where a product may fall in the chart.

Thanks for taking the time to put this together.

                        SUH- WHEAT !!!

That looks great, Todd. A lot of work there, especially for a guy that does not know how to use Photoshop!

                        Thanks for making the chart.
