  • NXT 2.0 Streaked

I traded for a 2009 Chevy Impala dark Mocha Bronze Metallic I have had it 2 weeks although I do not know how long it sat on the dealer’s lot. I wanted to get some wax on it to protect it. But first I hadn’t done anything to the wife’s car in a real long time, thought I should do her’s first. It is a 2008 Chevy Impala Grey, not Silver. I did the following:

    Wash
    Clayed
SwirlX applied with a DA buffer
NXT 2.0 Wax applied with a DA buffer
It turned out sweat, I was real happy with my first detailing it took 2 days. She liked it so well that she cooked hehe.

The next weekend it was time for the moment I was waiting for, the new car. As the car was new I skipped the SwirlX and did the following:

    Wash
    Clay
    NXT 2.0 applied with buffer

With the dark color I was expecting something real nice. I was disappointed, The coloring was streaked. I believe that I probably did a poor job of claying and on the Grey car the SwirlX cleaned that up for me.
Is SwirlX a cleaner and swirl remover? If so can I use t and skip the clay? Is ColorX a polish? So how about the following

    Wash
    SwirlX
    ColorX
    NXT 2.0

Would the NXT 2.0 be needed?

    Re: NXT 2.0 Streaked

Clay will remove bonded contaminants that are present above the paint surface.
SwirlX is a product that will remove defects below the paint surface (scratches/swirls and so on).

ColorX is an All in One product, meaning that it has the ability to remove very fine defects from the paint, restore paint clarity and protect the finish if left to dry.

This said, your process could be
    Wash
    Clay (if needed)
    SwirlX
    NXT2.0

    -or-

    Wash
    Clay (if needed)
ColorX - when using this you can remove the product once you work it in or leave it to dry
    NXT2.0

    -or-

    Wash
    Clay (if needed)
ColorX - leave the product to dry
