  • When is it necessary to polish a car?

Yes i know the difference between wax and polish. Right now I am only waxing my car, not polishing.

My car is only 4 years old and the paint is fine with no scratches. Should I polish it? Or just skip to waxing?

Currently this is my steps in car detailing, PLEASE CORRECT ME ON ANYTHING BELOW:

    wash car
    dry car
    clay bar
    apply wax

    How does the finish look?

Swirls? like this photo of my Yukon prior to paint correction?

The sun is a cruel tool to use to spot swirls and RIDS (Random Isolated Deep Scratches).

If your finish is good to go then keep doing what your doing.

If your finish has mild swirls you can pick up several products depending on severity of swirls and hardness of your paint.....

A lot of use use a Brinkman Dual Xenon light to pick up imperfections in the paint. It's a cruel tool along with the sun.

Even if there is no correction to be done, you might want to use DC2 polish before you apply your wax. It does enhance the overall appearance with the addition of oils.

It has the greatest visual effect on black and red surfaces and I can agree with that,as i've used it on my black car. It wasn't as effective on my met.blue civic, but still made a difference. Although it's an optional step,I include it all the time. There is also #7 which is the pro line version.
