  • clear coat failing(pics inside) ????

so i still fairly new to detailing and anytime i detail my car i always have these spots left over and its annoying me alot

i recently bought a makita rotary buffer and im about to buy pads either one of these 3 companies lake wood, detailers domain uber pads or megs pads

so my question is will using a buffer w/megs ultimate compound and deep crystal system solve my problem or would i have to wet sand?

this will be my first time using a rotary (ive tried w/a DA and did nothing)
i know i can kill my paint and clear ive watched the rotary vids on here and will watch again before i attempt

ohh by the way the car is a 01 bmw 330ci

    thanks for any help/info

    Looks like clear coat failure.

When you used the DA did you see any paint pigment that transferred to the pad on the DA?
Have you done anything by hand to see if you have any paint transfer from the surface to the applicator pad?

Yeah clearcoat failure cannot be fixed; it must be re-painted. However, the rotary + Ultimate Compound WILL clean up the rest of the finish that isn't experiencing clearcoat failure.

wet sanding wouldnt help alleviate the eye sore?
i know the clear would be diminished in that area if so but itd get rid of the eye sore

i want to repaint the car but i would like to get my new bumpers and such 1st

I agree, looks like clear coat failure. The only way I know to fix is, repaint.
            quality creates its own demand
