  • Diamond cut and DACP

Hi guys. Would you recommend using Diamond cut as a surface prep prior to using DACP?

I am thinking that the DACP should be should be able to clear up most swirls and scratches.

However, there is a recommendation that I use Diamond cut as a surface prep each time before I use DACP.

Will using Diamond cut all the time remove all my paint?

    poopia,
I would not use diamond cut all the time. Obviously one can only compound a finish so many times....however, I've recently learned from others on this site that it is perfectly fine to use DACP as often as you like. It's a great product.

Never automatically use an aggressive compound when working on paint, instead, first evaluate the finish and determine what the finish needs in order to restore it to a like-new, or better than new finish. Not all finishes automatically need to be compounded.

Also, Diamond Cut Compound if formulated for use with a rotary buffer and a wool cutting compound. (Not a foam pad on a dual action polisher).

Is this the way you're using it?

Popiah, I think I will only use Diamond Cut once in my entire single car ownership to remove orange peel problem. Other than that, DACP is more than enough.
