  • 1996 Ford Bronco Hartop cleaning/maintenance

I have a 1996 Ford Bronco. The former owner lived in Washington and the hardtop is in pretty solid condition. However, I live in southern California and it's much warmer here. I leave this vehicle outside so it gets hit with the sun constantly. It's beige in color and seems like a plastic/composite of some sort. What's the best way to clean and protect this OEM stock hardtop? I really would like a 2-step maintenance operation at most, maybe every 6-months.

    Thanks,
    Michael

I use a dressing on my GF's, though hers is already destroyed from previous owners not taking care of it.

I was at the Historical Auto Races in Monterey this weekend. A Meguair's rep recommended the Gold Class Trim Detailer. I bought it at the show and will give it a try this week sometime. He really didn't have a recommendation beyond that.

That's good stuff, but I think in the end you are going to spend too much money using that to protect the top, considering it's size. I'd buy a gallon of Hyper Dressing and dilute it. I would even recommend Water Based Dressing since it is cheaper than Hyper Dressing, however I cannot remember if that has UV protection in it for certain (pretty sure it does). That will cost MUCH less money over time and get the job done.
