#2 Fine Cut Cleaner

Just wondering if #2 FC cleaner with it's diminishing abrasives could be used as a cleaner/polish prior to wax. I say this as I already have a bottle that I bought to remove some road grime on another vehicle. I know there are other products that clean and polish ala Swirlx, DC polish etc.., but will this work just as well?

M02 Fine Cut Cleaner is a cleaner only, not a cleaner/polish. If your looking for a good cleaner/polish prior to waxing then something like M80 Speed Glaze or M205 Ultra Finishing Polish or even SwirlX will work.

Either way, the polishing oils in M80 or M205 and even SwirlX will make the finish look better than something like a straight cleaner such as M02.

Are you looking to prep your truck before you wax it?

Actually it's for a 2 year old car that am getting ready to clean up and wax for my father. He says he has some minor swirls in it so I will most likely go with the SwirlX as it is readily available at the local auto store.

As for my truck, I am good as far as that goes. I probably won't go into a full exterior detail again till October when I will put another couple coats of #21 Sealant on before it starts getting cold up here.

Boy!! I will say, I have been using the UQD and UQW to refresh after washes and it looks and beads like it did the day I first detailed in early July. Awesome stuff those two products.

Yeah, I really like the color of your truck. I saw the thread where you first detailed it with M21 2.0 and it looked great.

Go ahead and try SwirlX if you want to, but I dont think you will have too many problems using M02.
