One thing that spoils #7 for me is that it seems to completely wash away after two car washes. I assume any LSP is washed away with it as well. Mind you, I prepared the surface and applied the product correctly.
I too wonder about the LSP being weakened. I think that it might if we follow the theory that the shinier a vehicle looks then the weaker the protection.

As far as two car washes... if your referring to automatic or pressure washer washes then that is about right. Only hand washing using a very good soap made for the purpose of not removing wax and being very careful is going to make the LSP last.

Can someone share their experiences with Deep Crystal #2 and or #5 New Car Glaze???

With regards to #7, I think the name pretty well describes it. After all, they don't market it as "Daily Driver Glaze", or "I have to wash my car often Glaze".

I could care less how long it does or doesn't last. It works extremely well. That's why I said it was targeted at a very, very select market audience.

Re: #7 Show Car Glaze: One incredible product...

I have read lots and lots of testiimonies about #7, both here on MOL and on other forums. The anecdotal evidence does not support the thesis that #7 topped by a wax is less durable than the wax alone.

Of course there is one way to test the question. Someone needs apply #7 to half of his car and than wax the entire car. Then he needs to periodically check the beading over the course of a couple of months and see if one side shows better beading than the other. (I'm assuming, of course, that degradation of beading reveals degradation in LSP protection. I know his may not be the case, but what other characteristics can a layman use?) Any takers?

M07 won't inhibit the bonding of any Meguiar's LSP, but if left as the final applied product it will not last long on it's own. A couple of washes, or just a matter of days even without washing. Then again, it isn't designed to last.

Will it reduce the life span of a wax or sealant? When used properly it should cause no significant degradation in that regard.

For the above reasons/concerns, among others, we do consider the application of a pure polish to be an optional step.

With all due respect to this very knowledgeable author and fine gentleman and contributor, no wonder folks are scared to death to use a pure #7 polish. It scared me to death when I read it also...http://www.autopia.org/forum/detaili...-phillips.html

And yet, when following the tips set forth in that article, and other similar suggestions here on MOL, you used M07 with great success. Fear not the pure polish, for it is good!
